Facebook’s Video Publishing Updates
Publishing videos on Facebook just got easier. This week, Facebook released two new video publishing tools that give publishers more control over how their videos are organized and shared. Here are some of the new things you’ll be able to accomplish:
Enhanced Video Uploading
Publishers can now control the audience that receives the video…meaning age, gender and location. There are new distribution options, including secret videos, publishing a video to a page’s video tab without having to distribute it in the newsfeed, setting an expiration date for a video, and the ability to prohibit embeds on third-party sites. Secret videos give page owners the ability to upload videos that are accessible only via a direct URL, but which are not searchable for people on Facebook.
There are also new customization options available, including the ability to add custom thumbnails, and video labeling based on interest categories.
New Video Library
The video library makes it easier to organize and update videos. Page owners can edit subtitles and thumbnails after upload, manage distribution options, search and filter videos by title and description, and manage secret videos.
These tools are designed to help page owners grow their businesses on Facebook. So, what are you waiting for? Get those video cameras rolling, or as they say “Lights, Camera, Action!”
